Rubber O-Ring

An O-Ring is a mechanical gasket in round shaped used for packing & sealing, it is designed in such a way that it can fit in a groove and be compressed to give better sealing qualities.O-Rings are the most preferred sealing component because of the low cost, ease to make & simple mounting requirements.They are manufactured through a process known as moulding. O-Rings are available in various sizes the most common of them being AS568, BS & JIS2401 to name a few. The O-Ring size constitutes of two main dimensions: Inner Diameter (ID) & Cross Section (CS).With the right selection of material an O-Ring can be used in a varied media such as: Gas, Fuel, Chemical, Water, Lubricants Etc.O-Rings in all above material can be produced in regular hardness ( 70 / 75 / 90 ) Shore A.

PTEF Teflon O-Ring

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a high molecular weight polymer, one of the most versatile plastic materials known and useful for a large range ofproducts for applications excluded to other materials.It is also known by the common trade name Teflon®. Teflon® is a registered trademark of DuPont and is used in relation to products manufactured with Dupont's fluoropolymer resins.It can also be machined or moulded into most any shape like O-Rings.

PTEF Teflon O-Ring

  • Has lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material.
  • Lubrication is less critical and can sometimes be omitted.
  • Standard Low Temp: -200°C (-328°F)
  • Standard High Temp: 260°C (500°F)

PTFE Encapsulated O-Rings

PTFE encapsulated O-Rings are designed to combine the sealing properties of the rubber O-ring with the chemical resistance of Teflon® PTFE. They are generally manufactured from Viton® or silicone rubber and are coated in a thin moulded layer of Teflon FEP or PFA. FEP encapsulated O-rings are our most common and are resistant to solvents and chemicals. They have a low coefficient of friction. PTFE encapsulated O-rings also have a good elastomeric memory. We can also supply rigid Teflon® PTFE O-rings which have a high compression set.

  • Temperature (PFA Encapsulated O-Rings): -60°C to +260°C (300°C short term).

  • Shore Hardness (Hollow Silicone): 75-80°A
